Harry Belafonte Williams

I attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) from Jan 73 to June 77. Graduated from FAMU with a BS Degree in Physical Education and a Commission as a 2nd Lt in the US Marine Corps in June 1977. Joined Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, 28 May 1975. Began working at FPC in August 1981 as a Math Teacher, Football Coach, Wrestling Coach, and Track Coach. Served as Chairman of the Math Department at FPC. Retired from Coaching. Selected as Teacher of the Year a couple of times (Zone Finalist). Coach of the year numerous times for Football and Wrestling. Both my kids are FPC Alumni. My wife is a Retired Dean at FPC. I have been Involved in many activities in this community for over 37 years. Selected as Distinguished Minority Educator of the Year for Saint Lucie county school district 2012. Selected as Fort Pierce Central Teacher of the Year 2013 and is a District Finalist for Teacher of the Year. Final announcement was made on the 23rd of February 2013 at the 'Night of the Stars'. And the Teacher of the Year for Saint Lucie County for 2014 is Harry Belafonte Williams. Great Honor: First to ever be District Minority Educator of the Year and District Teacher of the Year in Back to Back Years. Retired from FPC in June 2015. Enjoying Retirement. Recently traveled to Africa, Alaska and Canada. Awesome trips. Parasailing and Skydiving next ?
Hmmmmm. Train trip around the country coming in the Fall of 2018. 23 States and the District of Columbia in 14 days. Great Trip. Proud to have been selected as a Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Distinguished Alumni. Proud to be selected as President of the Retired Educators Association of Saint Lucie County for a two year period. COVID-19 IS REAL. STAY SAFE!!

It took over 30 years for our Football Team to be recognized for our accomplishments in 1970. Let us not forget our humble beginnings. Central is the Offspring of Lincoln Park Academy and Dan McCarty high school. We would not be Who We Are today if not for BOTH of our Parents. Let's Not Forget. Most of us attended Two High schools. Our story is Worthy to be Told.
I Retired from Fort Pierce Central in June 2015. Wow, 50 years. 2021. Still volunteering at FPC.
